okay, i might buy a gateway mx3414, like the one on best buy, is it worth it? and is it the best deal???

its got the x2 turion, but is that better than the penitum dual core?

and is it worth the price? thanks

my friend has one but his seems to be really hot all the time.

what is the best dual core that runs efficiently and does not heat up so fast?

If you are relegated to just those two, the Turion machine has the better graphics adapter. Also, since AMD machines do not require Intel Chipsets on the mobo, they are usually less expensive. As is the case with that one.

I'm not sure if any of that matters to you, but the 6100 should be better than the 950 integrated (I could be wrong so do not quote me but I think the 6100 has SM3.0 support?) This just means that if you EVER have the desire to play a game on it, it can support some of the low-to-medium DX9 games (Far Cry, HL2, maybe FEAR but probably not so hot etc.) I mean, for less money you get a little more performance out of the GPU and likely similar performance out of the CPU. Also, the Turion is smaller. 14.1 as opposed to 15.4. I have a 15.4 laptop and a 17" laptop and the size difference is not that much. So if you are on the go or need to use it in limited space, the Turion gets another nod.
