Best dual ram Athlon board?

As in my past few posts I am planning on building a new computer but reusing as much of my exsisting items as I can. I have 384mb of SDRAM that I would perfer not to lose but would like the ability to go to DDR when it fits my budget. I'm a fan of the Athlon CPU's (mainly because I have had no problems with my current one). The computer I'm parting out is a store bought HP "wonder", so how do I know which pieces, parts are compatible with a new board? Thanks again for all you guys' help!

ECS K7S5A is gonna be your best bet for what ya want. 2 SDRAM slots, 2 DDR slots. As for Via or ALi motherboards, you're not gonna find anything that comes close to the performace of the ECS w/ support for two RAM types.

As for compatibility, most everything should be 100% compatible, really. What all's in the HP?

i strongly second that notion. just make sure to get an athlon xp and you won't have a flaw in performance or stablity, with athlon t-birds - it's decent.

i own a ecs k7s5a. when i had it with a t-bird it bsod'ed at 133 mhz after 3 or so hours, and with a athlon xp - well not one crash yet.

The components I am planning on reusing out of the HP is:
60gig Maxtor HD
384mb PC133 SDRAM
8/4/32 Samsung CD-R/RW
Hitachi DVD-ROM
3.5" Floppy (Don't know make)

Other components recently installed:
24/10/40 Lite-On CD-R/RW
GeForce 3 Ti200
v.90 modem

Any more recommendations? What kind of case and power supply do I need? Forgive for asking so many easy questions, I just find it really hard to try and price things on pricewatch without knowing what brands to look for.

Looks like a good fit to me too. Off topic, is that a micro atx HP mobo, does it work, do you want to sell it?

The mobo I am replacing is a ASUS A7V-VM with a 1GHz Athlon.

Case.. power supply.. I'd go with an Antec case myself, they're sturdy, not too abd looking, and cool well, and make sure you try and get a hold of a quality 350+ watt PS. You can do with less, but you could run into problems.
