P4's, properly speaking, aren't dual-capable. The Xeons are derived from the P4 core, but use different sockets. What the best motherboard is for dual Xeons will depend on what you're after. Some of the "best" ones have no AGP slot, for instance (they're server boards in the $500+ range) and almost all Xeon boards are dualies, period, starting around $350 (I did see one ~$280 single-CPU Xeon board).

NO such thing as a dual pentium 4 there chief. Xeons are the overinflated versions of the Pentium 4 and they are for use in dual setups. I suggest AMD in the Dual arena as they prove to be much more bang for the buck. You cna even mod AthlonXP's to work in a dual config.

Maybe a Tyan Thunder K7X Pro with onboard Ultra320 SCSI and gigabit LAN, if you want to build a hardcore workstation or server. If you want gaming performance, pick nForce2, a fast single AthlonXP and a top-notch video card (or the Intel equivalent platform).

Some of the best dual P4-based Xeon (there is no such thing as a dual Pentium 4, as others have pointed out already) motherboards are probably made by Supermicro. Some do not have AGP slots, and are designed for servers. Others do have AGP slots, and are designed for workstation use. Those based on the 7505 chipset (having an AGP slot) are probably more in the line of what you're interested in. Expect to pay US$500 or more for the board alone. Consider, however, that you can have somewhere around 6GB of RAM (maybe more?), and you usually get an integrated SCSI controller "free."
