Long time sharkyforums poster - but I just can't get anyone to give me a solid answer on anything anymore, and it takes forever to hear back, so here I go (hope you guys are more helpful).
Background. I've got a main PC, a HTPC, and an arcade machine with someone elses PC in it. The plan is to move my current pc (Rad 9800Pro, P4C 2.8Ghz, 1GB pc2700DDR, Abit IC7) to the HTPC, and then the HTPC (PCI Radeon 9000 Pro mentioned in question 2 below, 2.8Ghz P4c, 512MB of RAM, integrated video - no AGP - Its a cheap Dell) will go to the Arcade machine. The 9000Pro in the HTPC (which as I mention below doesn't appear to have a working s-video out) will need to go into the new build as a secondary video card, and then I will need a new PCI video card with s-video out in the Arcade machine. With that said here are my questions.
#1) Whats the best sub $100 dual DVI video card I can buy (perferably newegg, but anything works) for my new build. I'm looking at the XFX 7300GT, a few x1600Pros, X800, X800GT...
#2) I have a Radeon 9000Pro that when I hooked it up to s-video it was black and white and the image scrolled (if that makes sense). Is this indicative of a bad s-video out? The card seems to work fine otherwise - so is it possible to just have bad s-video out and the rest be fine (I've tried different settings, etc - still the same s-video out problem).
#3) How well will two video cards from the same manufacturer work together. I'm going to have a triple monitor setup on my new build (2 19inch Rosewill R193E monitors and a 19inch Samsung Syncmaster 191T), and I'll need to pair up the video card in Question #1 with the video card in question #2. I've used a 9800Pro and the 9000Pro in the past together with no problems, but I'm curious as to how an nVidia PCI-e card and a Radeon PCI card would work together.
Thanks in Advance...
