i know its a simple question, but i'm running Unreal Tournament w/ a Hercules 3D Prophet II GTS Pro, and i don't seem to be getting the same or better framerates than i did w/ my old 3dfx Voodoo 5. i ran the game under Direct3D support w/ both cards, so i'm thinking that the drivers might need to be updated. i installed the drivers that came w/ the video card, so i'm sure nVidia has new drivers by now...thanks, Eric...

With my Visiontek G2 GTS, I get the best results with the Nvidia 12.41 drivers. I know there are later versions, but none give me the fps in UT that the 12.41 does.

Try the newest ones from nVidia, 28.32 I think. Some nice features in the additional controls.

Is UT your primary or only game? Why did you switch from a v5 to a G2pro?

I upgraded from a v3 to a G2pro mainly for RTCW. UT I was able to up the resolution to 1280x1024x32 (awesome res) and wasn't pleased with the quality using OpenGL (brightness, toggling with OS, etc.) or the FPS with D3D. I did some tweaking and got the GL drivers recommend for UT (in the UT directory) and quality has gotten better, but NOTHING LIKE THE MY 3DFX CARD (Glide game + Glide Card = Harmony).

Newer games based on OpenGL or D3D should run better with the G2pro.

Try running the game in OpenGL.
Remove the drivers from Hercules (Heard that old drivers, 3dfx, might still cause problems with Nvidia cards...don't know how true)
Install Nvidia's latest
Search these forms for UT OpenGL or check...some ut sites. Try posting on the OpenGL forums or search on Unreal. This might help!

Another vote for 28.32 drivers they are rock solid for me,I do game in UT a lot as well, yes do remember to remove the old Hercules drivers first before installing the Nvidia drivers.

Few bios tweaks like disable all video shadowing ,faswrites & disable system bios cacheable will help gaming stability and do no harm :).
