Ok it seems the 61.77 drivers are a mess when used with a Geforce 4 Ti. Which drivers are regarded as the best for the card. I have heard that the 44.03 release works best with this card.

If I install these instead of the latest will performance drop for this card in Doom 3?

I currently have the 56.72's for drivers for a TI 4200. I had the 44.03's which seemed fine too. I am getting my DIII in the mail tommorrow as well so I am wondering the same thing. People don't seem really happy w/ performance on the TI 4200 oddly enough. So I'm going over to coolbits to eak out a little more performance. We'll see. But to answer your questions, the 5672's are great. No issues at all.

you WILL need the latest drivers to run new games ~ especially for DOOM³.

i dont personally own a gf4, but id suggest trying the beta 65.73 drivers.
make sure all 3 "optimization" options are enabled in the driver panel, or yes it will be slow.

HTH :)

Schadenfroh: The 61.77s have a glitch with all non-6800 series cards in Halo PC-- if you look at the flag or a Warthog antenna from most angles, it disappears, along with flickering problems with dust kicked up by explosions or Warthog tires. Use the 56.xx series drivers for the Ti4200, you don't need the 61.77s for that Ti4200.

You DO notice it, it's kind of hard not to notice the dust behind your Warthog flickering in and out of existence. Or grenade detonation plumes disappearing instead of blasting upwards like they should. The flag/antenna thing you probably won't notice, but particle effects not working properly is very noticeable.
And I do believe the original poster said that the 61.77s were doing retarded things with his Ti4200, which is why he was asking about the best driver revision for his card. The 56.xx series are the best modern drivers for the Ti4200.
