I received an older computer for free from a buddy of mine.

PentiumIII 500mhz
Abit Siluro Geforce2 mx 100/200 32mb video card
384mb ram and a dead hard drive.
I replaced the hard drive today got this baby up and running, was using old 27.XX nvidia drivers. I installed the newest forceware drivers today and now it runs like mud.

Tried playing quake3 with it before I installed the latest drivers, I was getting 60-90fps. Now with the latest drivers I'm lucky if i get close to 50FPS, and very choppy.

Just curious which "older" drivers would be the best bet for this GF2. I've searched on google and people are saying either the 29.42 drivers or the 4X.XX drivers.

Any help is greatly appreciated on which drivers to use for this old card.

I always use the 30.82's on old cards. Try them out and see if they work for you too. Be sure to uninstall the current ones and use driver cleaner in safe mode before installing them.

Heh, I installed a GF2MX 100 in my sister's computer several years ago. Duron 700 machine. Man, that was a slow card. Gave her my old Radeon 9600 Pro a few years back.
