I've tried all the 4x.xx dets, and I keep coming back to the 30.82's

best picture quality and so far had NO trouble from ANY game I play.

I'm using 43.30. It and 40.72 are the only 40.xx I've tried that worked well for me with WinXP. 43.45 runs quite a bit better in games, but I had a problem with scrolling pages in a couple of programs which was very irritating. I couldn't get 30.82 to install for some reason, so I don't know how it would compare. I remember reading that TV-out was broken in either 43.00 or 43.30, which wasn't a concern for me. If you don't mind changing drivers, try 43.45.

30.82 or 40.72 are both good... Ive used both on my Ti200 and they run great.
come to think of it, I think I am using 40.72's on my Ti4200 as well.

I'm using 43.45 with my GF3 and they work perfectly for me.

I too am using the 43.45 drivers with my GF2 Ti with no problems(never had any problems with any Nvidia drivers),stability is excellent ,image quality is very good so am very happy with them.

Ditto that.
I'm using 30.82 on my GeF3 and my GeF4 Ti4200.

i've found this pattern, but i dont claim to be an expert.

for my geforce 2 series cards, the 2X.XX series drivers were best

for geforce 3 series cards, 3X.XX drivers were best

geforce4, 4X.XX drivers

*USUALLY* the highest driver version for that series is the best, but not always

different systems react differently to drivers

30.82 drivers are good, however the 40.xx series have a much better improved Nvidia control panel (43.45 best image quality of the 40.xx series IMHO),in the end drivers are all subjective.I would say whatever drivers you try ,it`s best to remove the old ones first before installing the newer version.

I'm a "fan" of the 30.82'a myself. I used them for a long time and never had a single issue.

I've moved into a newer 40.xx series driver (since reinstalling XP, a friend convinced me that it's SO much better) and I've seen a couple of problems. Not enough to motivate me to change, though.

One piece of advice - if you think you might be experimenting, start with the 30.82. It's easier to go from 30.xx to 40.xx than back down the other way.

If you want more info, go here. It's the best site I've seen so far for nVidia driver info. Be sure to check out the forums for questions - they've probably asked yours already :)
