Best drivers for a 9700pro?

My friend has a 9700pro and he wants to gain more fps in games, mainly css. I suggested better drivers and a mild overclock, but im puzzled on which drivers he should dl, will the latest catalyst drivers do him any good? are there any incompatibility issues? Also what about the omega drivers?
