Best driver for 8800GT w/ Win7x64?

Should I be using the newest nvidia driver or an older release for optimum performance/stability?

Always get from site or guru3d latest WHQL that will do you good. It has performance and visual improvements for your card. Thanks

I've been using the latest drivers with my 8800GT with no issues, also using Win7x64

I would probably try the new drivers as well. I am on 178.24, but that drivers doesn't support Windows 7 (I'm on Vista).

I'm using the 8.17.11.9562 drivers on my eVGA 8800GT OC and W7 Pro w/64bit and no problems. PC was put together on 11/20/2009 and the 8800GT came from an older and earlier build I had running XP Pro. I don't normally update GPU drivers unless I have problems. If it isn't broke, don't fix it, is my motto. Some may argue that you miss out on new and better gaming by going this route but I disagree.
