Someone needs to learn to count, 2 people said namcheap, 2 said godaddy. :p

The $3.95 with godaddy is only if you buy something else from them, not just for domain registration ("with each and every new, non-domain product you buy). Namecheap is a couple cents cheaper, and has a much nicer control panel.

Ok so im going to go with namecheap...

Since i am hosting it myself, how do i set up sub-domains... Can i, with namecheap, direct sub-domains to specific folders in my server?

Namecheap gives you a free year of Whois Guard, which is something I think most people like to have to protect information about them.

i kinda like GoDaddy and their customer service, I pay extra to my webhost because they have a 24hr staffed CS desk as well.

Namecheap seems cheaper if you want Whois privacy. I'm at Godaddy.com right now, but I might move everything over to name cheap since they charge only $2.88/year for privacy. While I typed that, Google probably made a million dollars. Just a thought as I try to save $5/year.
