I remember before the internet became a big thing, very few names were actually taken (this is back in 92 or so), and I considered registering "business.com" and "realestate.com" and "news.com" and "sports.com" -- generic names not specific to any company. I thought someday they might be useful, but then thought "naaaah, why would anyone ever want those domains?". Aaaargh. 🙁
