Best dog parks in Southern California?

I went to this park up in the Hollywood hills today and it was pretty disappointing; no grass, all dirt trails, and no place to really play or mingle with the few dogs that were there. I practically live right next to Rancho park, and go there all the time since it's a great place for dogs. But I want something new, and a park that's more dog oriented (or one that at least has a lot of dogs Juneau can play with).

Thanks for any tips. :)

EDIT: And of course, how can I forget the pics.

You take your dog to a park to interact with other doggies?

I guess I don't understand your post. I have dogs and don't take them to parks to play, they do that at home.

Perhaps I misunderstand.

Some people like to take the dogs to parks to play with other dogs. Maybe his dog is an only pet.
They have parks that are out there that are for people with dogs only, I don't get it myself but hey thats just me.

It's a good idea to take dogs out to socialize them with people and other dogs. Good luck finding a park. :) I don't know of any.

you'r probably too far north for this but in Sab Diego theres a place in Ocean Beach called Dog Beach. tons of people bring dogs there it's great. water is warmmer at that spot than the rest of the beach because it's shallow.

edit- great looking dog too

As far as I am told, you stunt your dog's development if you don't socialize him early on. Which means, he might not interact with other dogs, and even people, all that positively without proper socialization. But anyway, dogs need to be walked, and I'd rather walk my dog in a park than on the streets or sidewalks of LA.

Thanks for those links macwinlin, they help a lot. :)

Thanks for the suggestion shady.

pulse8, the park in Hollywood I went to was that one, Runyon. Didn't like it, not many trees with grass around them that Juneau could sniff around or play with dogs in.

It's more of a hiking trail that allows dogs than an actual dog park.

It's also where I saw Jennifer Aniston, so I might be biased. ;)
