Hey velcro,

A$$hats anonymous called. They wanna know if you're up for drum major again this year. They loved your last performance with the thong & all.

Oh, and just wanted to thank you again for all your incredibly useable posts. I think you're hovering around .001% "usefulness" so far this year and the .001% is really only in the "bumps" you're inadvertantly giving. Nice job!

Velcro, give it up. We all know you are just a little 16-ish yr old kid still popping the pimples on your face, living underneath mom and dad. If you are in fact not a 16 yr old, you sure as hell act like one.

That was plain english to me, but then again, I am past high school and college.

Stop with the GD quoting for crissakes! I'm on the equalivalent of a 500bps line and you're pouring salt on blisters at this point!

Why don't you strangle yourself? You'd be more useful that way.

And to add some usefulness here in this post.....

I explained to MX via PM, that I've had good luck using *more* detergent. In my case I usually slightly overfill both reservoirs and run the "heavy duty" cycle.

My wife, OTOH, usually just fills the closeable reservoir and runs the "regular" cycle.

My dishloads always turn out better.......:D

I'd also assume that JetDry & the like work well too. I'm just too cheap to buy it! The very few samples I've used have produced good results.

Also.............new dishes will ALWAYS look great compared to older dishes. Older dishes just can't recover from years of hard water. I'm always amazed when we replace drinking glasses. The new ones just look amazing in comparison. Hard water is a cruel beast.

Velcro............well..........just another a$$hat w/ an IP address! ;)

Alot of my pots and pans have that hard water scale building up:(

I ran the dishwasher 3 or 4 times empty with a cup of CLR each time to clean the inside of the dishwasher itself, and it did a very good job. However, I still have the hard water problem in my neighborhood and sometimes I have to run it through the rinse cycle twice just to get satisfactory results on the dishes.

Handwashing was an option before the little ones came along. I just dont have time for that anymore;)

I really dont have the extra cash for all that business. Although, I would love to have a water softening system installed. Its murder on my skin and hair also:(

Full household water softening system can be had for as low as $400~500, and salt refill would cost less than $150 per year.

Installation isn?t that difficult, therefore you can pickup a cheap system and install it yourself. Many people don?t know what they have, therefore they throw away there treatment system if they think something is wrong with it. And, water treatment systems last for ever and can be cheaply reconditioned therefore it is ideal to get a used system.

The NaCl is actually used to recharge the ion exchange resins that are used to soften the incoming water. ;)

Thanks for educating me. I use to help the shop guys when I'm bored at the Water Services Company that I worked at ;)

[edit] PS. The salt cost less than $50 for a refill and it only require that you tap open the cylinder.
