The movie feature on most digicams isn't that great, which do you plan on USING (not want but USE):
1) Making movies, get a camcorder with still pictures.
2) Taking pictures with short video clips.

The quality isn't that great, very low res.

Also what's your budget?

My Sony DSC-P9 takes decent movies. On an empty 128mb Memory Stick i can get about 90-95 minutes of video. :)

Minutes or seconds of video?

If it's minutes then I'm buying one this week, I'm not kidding.

Minutes. Just cleaned my card its giving me 91 Minutes which can be one LONG movie or hundreds/thousands of short ones. The only limitation on the length is the size of the memory stick. I mean it dosent look nearly as good as a regular video camera, but it dosent look as bad as many that ive seen. What about your A40 though?!?

I still don't believe that, 91 minutes of video?

Do you have any videos you can send me via AIM or MSN?

Already have you covered, im working on it right now... And yes, cross my heart and hope to die, 91 mins of video. Granted the battery might die before i make all 91 mins, but i usually get about 75-90 mins on a full charge with LCD on and not turning it off.

How much did you pay for that Sony? I might have to take a look at that, it was around $500 right?

Damn I think I'll have to stick with my Canon A40 because I rarely use my digicam.

I believe the Fuji S602z has set the bar on best video quality for a digicam. It's the only one that shoots at a native 640x480, instead of the 230x240 of the others.

That's pretty sweet, the quality of my Canon A40's video is pretty dismal.

I finally get to chime into one of these threads as an owner, not as the one asking questions...

I've got the p9 and it allows as much video as you have room for on your card, as aphexII said, plus it has audio. That was one of the main reasons I bought this camera and I am not in the least disappointed. I can run the video full screen, and although its a bit pixelated, it is still watchable I think. Good luck in your agonizing decision as to which camera you are gonna buy :).

Uhh 91 minutes? I have a DSC-P5 and the only way I can get that time is at 160x120 resolution. You're doing the same right?
