The A60 is great but there should be a new model coming to replace it within the next few months. I'd wait to see what comes out.
Doubt it? Why? The A40 was replaced by the A60, and now the A60 is due for replacement. Canon has stated they are releasing 20 new cameras in 2004, and I imagine at least one of them will be a new 2.0MP A-Series camera.Originally posted by: rpbri2886

Canon is going to put out another 2mp camera? I highly doubt it.

Decent Camera overall, you can find it for 200 at staples. If you get it on the right week, you may get a free 64mb xd card also.

There is no such thing as best digital camera. Each one suits a different person.
$200 is a lot of money to some people and you CAN get a "good camera" for that much.Originally posted by: Ornery

For $200.00?

I disagree. You're saying that it can be "good for what it is". Bah. Either it's good or it ain't. Ole' jamerdean is going to buy something for $200.00, then upgrade to something else not long after. I see it here all the time. I bet most DC owners on this board are on their third or fourth cameras already. Why? Because the first one or two weren't 'good' enough.Originally posted by: BigSmooth
I consider value when describing a product as "good" or not. The E Machine is not exactly analogous because they make junk.
Is a P4 Dell for $350 a "good computer" for most people out there? Absolutely. Sure, it's got integrated audio and video, but in the grand scheme of things there is very little software out there that would not run on that machine. Plus you've got the Dell name and support backing it.
To sum up, a camera can be "good" even if it's not high end. If it provides everything a user wants or needs and beats the competition in quality at the same price, I'd call that a good camera.
