Best digital camera for a new user.

Thinking of buying my wife a digital camera for xmas. She strongly dislikes my sony dsc-s85 because she says it's too difficult to use (setting, etc.). SO what is the best camera that I can get for less than 300.00 that would be the easiest to operate?
Want something that's pretty good at indoor/low light situations if possible.
I hear alot of people rave about the canons (a75/85/95). Are these really easy to operate?

thanks for the advice. I may have to go to BB and look at one in person. I secretly wanted to get one of the A85/95 just so I could compare it to my Sony. BUt I thikn you are right. This one is probably a bit smaller and easier to operate.

BTW are you sure about the http://www.imaging-resources.com/ link????? I don't see much on digital cameras.

Canon S series is the way to go....they're small, easy to use, and the image quality is best in the industry. (not talking megapixels....just lense quality and clarity)

I think the sd200 is looking the best now. Any other opinions before I get a chance to go out and look?

Is the sd300 that much better than the sd200? I know it's over my price range but I just want to see what the differences are.

sd200/sd300 are similar.. sd300 just has better specs

both use the new digic II engine which totally blows away digic I (s410/s500/etc) Plus the SD are thinner.

You can get the sd300 for under 299 with the dell discount.. if you're willing to miss x-mas..
