Helping out a friend here and I'm wondering what's the best digital camera she can buy around the $50-60 range?

The choices are limited. Brand new... bleh. They're garbage.

You'd be better off getting a nice used one. Check eBay. I was researching cameras in this price range not long ago, and the choices are pretty limited.

There isn't much though.

Nope. You'd be surprised. Even A10's and A20's can go for 70 - 100$+ depending on accessories.

I just saw a used Canon S10 on eBay starting at $55. The S10 and S20 were pretty cool for their time. I still have an old S10 in fact.

Starting.. yeah. But you have to view completed items to really get an idea. The last hour is when most bids happen.

Plus, shipping cost.

If she could spend a little more, she could get a used A10 or A20. It would be worth it.

Point is, there ain't much out there in his price range. Actually, maybe he should just get a decent webcam instead.

I have this Cintar/Arugus 2.1 camera that I picked up from Office Depot for $70 when they were on sale a couple months ago and have been happy with it. I didn't need a great camera. I just wanted something basic so I could post crap on the net. It has most of the important features and its cheap. The pics it take are good enough for me but they aren't great.

Pics I took on a trip to the junkyard
I took those at 800x600 but shrunk down the 640x480 for web posting.
