Best Digi Camera for around $200?

Related to This thread...I got my dad to take back the other Vivitar camera and now I am going to pay him a little extra money to get a better camera. The ones that were at Shopko, the original place he bought it were subpar or did not fit my budget. I know I have asked this before, but this is a very dynamic market with a lot of price fluctuations, so I'm gonna ask it again. Thanks for your opinions/help.

depends on what you want....

A portable, feature-full, good quality camera: Canon a520
i've tinkered with one and am impressed with manual settings, good flash, good quality pics. I brokered a deal with rebate/coupon for ~$130 from Office Depot. Dell frequently has coupon deals bringing it around $140-$150.

12x optical zoom, image-stabilized, but pretty bulky: low-end panasonic dmc-fz line
I personally have the fz1 and think it's great... but flash is poor.

Some people like the super-compact cameras.... I personally think they are awkward to hold. The a520 fits in my coat pocket with ease. The panasonic w/12x optical requires lugging a camera bag around (assuming you want it protected from the elements).

I'd be tempted for myself if I see a hot deal on the a520 again...

edit: hmmm... yeah... that LZ2 looks good, too.

LZ2 is good if you need the zoom.
I'd personally go for a Fuji F10. Usable ISO at 800!
I'd say that camera is easily best in its class.

Check out the Panasonic LZ2. Its not too big and it has the highest optical zoom in its class, 6x optical. Leica lens is awesome for capturing real life photos as well as many other features.
