unfortunately when i move out in a few weeks, i will not be able to afford cable or dsl internet. (this is because they require a deposit and professional installation since its a brand new house... otherwise i could afford the monthly payments)... so im thinking ill just get dial-up internet and a land line... does anyone have any experience with dial-up? im definitely not getting aol. i have been considering juno... are there any free isps with unlimited access? thanks for any help you can give me :)

Metconnect in NYC is free with unlimited access. However I'd consider Netzero or Earthlink if you can't find a free unlimited dialup in your area.

caitlion,

When we moved into our new place the cable wasn't working so we had to use dialup for a few months.

I would recommend Access4Less.net read the reviews, it's good, it's unlimited and it's cheap.

I'd recommend highstream.net

Tons of access numbers so I use them when traveling with my laptop. Speeds are good for dialup :p

I am using Access4Less now. It is less than 10 bucks a month for unlimit usage and it is very decent.

I used to have Earthlink and it was good but it was $21.95 a month, therefore I switch to Access4Less (same speed and 1/2 price).

im at school right now and for some reason that page is blocked. if i cant afford it and its dial-up then its probably way over-priced. what is it?

ill probably go with that access4less

Don't know why you can't get there but it's Allvantage.com with virus scan, spam scan and the 5X feature for $8.95 per month.

I think access4less is very similar.

access4less in tucson is pretty decent...I connect aways at 40kbps in town...so its what i use instead of DSL/Cable/whatever ;)
only go for the 5.95 a month deal....the "high speed" aint worth a penny...

Only 40k?

I routinely get 49.3k here in Portland, Oregon.
