Best diagnostic tools for Win8.1?

My laptop is having some weird issues which after taking it apart I can say are almost all due to win8.1. Now, the install is still working and stable so I don't see a need to make a fresh one (specially since I got way too many stuff and configs I don't want to lose/have to reinstall).

Most issues are with boot, basically it wont go to sleep or hibernate without crashing and even after a normal shutdown booting is a hit and miss and might need a couple reboots until windows boots properly.

I have no idea what might be causing this, and to make it worse lenovo's support is complete crap, they barely give you any tools.

Any recommended apps?

Thanks

There are a lot of good suggestions for your issue on this page:

http://www.fixedbyvonnie.com/2013/11/windows-8-1-wont-sleep/

Most notable would be disabling IPv6. One thing that was not mentioned was Windows update, especially drivers. Make sure everything is up to date before wasting too much time and effort.

But no, there is no software that will look for every possible problem on Windows 8.1 and fix it for you (although there is plenty of malware that will claim to do that).

Also, Lenovo can be helpful, depending on what model you have. If you have a Thinkpad, they have an app that gets you the latest software without even having to jump on the web. If you have a $400 model, getting an update is like trying to pull a nail out of concrete.

If you still can't get it working by trying the above, let us know what model you have.

Good luck!
