I can tell the 50.xx detonators and up are all optimized for the geforce fx series, but how about the older geforce 4 ti series, which still beat the $hit out of some newer cards, to name a few the fx5200 and even the fx5600. I am still running on the 44.03, but does anyone know what is on average the best detonators for geforce 4 on windows xp? Thanks.

don't know the average differences, but personally i use 44.03 for both my GF4 Ti's. am considering trying 52.14 on my spare PC first, it they offer a nice performance increase i'll upgrade my main computer as well.

When I recently tested a few different drivers with my gf4 ti4200 I found that:-

The v45.23 are better for ut2003 performance.
The v44.03 are better for quake3 performance, 3dmark 2001se and glexcess.
The v41.09 were very close in performance to the v44.03 drivers.

Overall the performance was close between all of the drivers (especially game performance). I havn't tested the v50.?? drivers yet however I don't think the GF4 will be getting any performance increase.

41.09s were my favorite, however 43.45s are also excellent and a little bit more current, so if you have any compatibility problems with the 41.09s, try the 43.45s.

i have a ti4200 and i'm using nVidia's 43.45's, though i may try the Omegas soon. but as far as nVidia WHQL drivers go, i'd say including and anywhere between 43.45 and 45.23.

ihave a 4200, and im using the 30.82. i believe the 40.xx series was the series that began compromising IQ for speed. never tried the 40.xx so i really don't know for sure. nvidia was pumping out all the different 40.xx series like crazy, didn't bother downloading. used 29.42 before.
