Best decade ever for music?

Definitely 60's

Great Rock music
Great Soul / R & B
Great Country
Great Jazz
Great Blues (revival)

Wish I was around

1980s, specifically early 80s British.

The Smiths/Morrissey, Culture Club, Human League, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, etc.

Anyone who says differently is probably abusing drugs.

If you say late 60's I'll agree. If you say early 70's I'll agree, but the years before and after those could have been better.

And anyone who says so was abusing drugs in the 80's 😉

Haha, your taste in music sucks.

I'd probably list some date in the 1700s if I knew enough about classical music to have memorized composition dates...

60s hippie culture or 90s rave culture. Wildly different music, but I imagine the vibe would have been similarly euphoric in the 60s as it was for us in the late 90s.

Anyone who says the 1950s has problems.

Ever analyzed the music from a nonbias point of view? It's simplistic, repetitive, and overly socially conservative.

I can understand those who say 60s or 70s, but not 50s. 1950s was the most perverted time is US history.

I'm a huge fan of the 80's

Still have the leftover 70's rock - Springsteen, AeroSmith,
Beginning of POP - Michael Jackson, Madonna, Wham!, Culture Club, Cyndi Lauper
All time greatest Rap era
Lots of R&B including BBD, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant, Whitney
80's Butt Rock - Crue, Poison
Beginning of Grunge

Of course you can't forget Morissey, Cure, Depeche Mode types as well

I denounce you're labling of Crue as Butt Rock

One of the most underrated 80's bands

I loved a LOT of stuff from the 80's, but the decade was filled with one hit wonders and fluff. There was a lot to like, but the 10 years from '65 to '75 had more substance.

Love the Crue but they definitely fall into the Hair/Butt rock of the 80's. Forgot about Def Lepard in my above statment as well. We can not forget about the 1-armed drummer.

Add Van Halen and AC/DC to my rock list.

McCarthy'ism at its finest!

No kidding. Ever read that article that's passed around from the "Home and Garden" magazine from the 50s? It talked about how women "belong in the kitchen" and when they talk to their husbands, the husband's topic of conversation is always more important.

Oh, and black people to the back of the bus.

All women should be housewives.

Being gay is evilll!!!

Atheism is a mental disorder.

Anyone who disagrees with you is automatically a "commie."

Yeah, the 50s were a great time.

You've disqualified yourself
Def Leppard best stuff came out when the dude had two arms
And AC/DC and Van Halen was definitely better in the 70s
