I've been looking around for the best deal on a case now for some time. What I've come up with is Antec's Lanboy given my specifications (light, decent power supply, nice to look at, fits standard ATX, reliable manufacturer). I hope that some of you will help me here, and will suggest some other cases to look at. Thanks.

16lbs? Is that right? I thought it was a steel case. Anyway, I could buy two of those for the cost of one Lanboy. I guess it is a better deal...

(Could we move this to the hot deals area admin? Sorry about that.)

There's also a hot deal somewhere right now on Antec Sonata... check over on "Hot Deals" forum.

No, no this is the right place. Hot deals is not the forum to ask questions. Except for that IWANNA thread they have stickied at the top.

As for the topic on hand, Microcenter.com has a couple of Antec cases for $50 without rebate. Example: SX630, and their entry AMB.

there are always deals on prices. it all depends on how much you are willing to spend, which boils down to how much you're willing to give up. my case cost me $90 without a PSU, and my PSU cost $120.

in the mean time, bb and cc both have deals on the sonata. it's an excellent case for those who want that type of case (not really for me) . and obviously they come with antec power supplies. $10 cheaper at BB btw.

Great case and PS. Keep in mind, that you have to probably make some mods to the case for proper cooling. The case is compact, so it's harder to disapate the heat. Try an intake in the front and cut a hole in the side plexiglass panel(intake also). For exhaust, a fan in rear and a blowhole on the top of the case. For $49.95 that is a great price. I bought mine for about $99.00.

The Sonata is probably one of the best deals in cases, since it has 2x120mm fans and an awesome automotive-quality black paintjob, and a very good psu.

I agree with Fibes for the most part, though I don't know if I'd cut a hole in the side--maybe just a big hole on top and widen the hole in the back. My temps are 10C degrees cooler with the side off.
Also, if you plan on oc'ing, I'd get the one without a psu and get a GOOD 400w one. The voltages are much stabler with a Sparkle 350w.
