pre-order is the same thing as out of stock. I haven't seen that rebate elsewhere, but that's a good deal if true. I must admit that it seems odd that frys would have a rebate on an item that nobody has in stock, however.

edit: in fact, check out diamond's web site. no mention of a rebate, either: http://www.diamondmm.com/3870PE4512.php

it is weird...but i DON'T think it is fake. if i was going to buy a card right now i would get the 3870 from Frys, if i didn't get the 8800GT for only $250.

Hey I typed in 3850 in frys search engine and it comes up for $229 and in stock, whats the deal with that? How come its the same price as the 3870? I think Frys is trying to pull a fast one unless its a typo which i dont think it is.

im thinking of getting this card with the rebate. i plan to play games with a 24" westinghouse, processor(undecided, but most likely E6750, then upgrade to a penryn in a year), 2 gb of crucial ram(upgrading to 4 gb later), hows it look?
