Best DDR400 PC3200 RAM deal I could find this week

yeah, if you have a fry's nearby, they still occasionally have a stick of 1gb ddr for ~70 after rebates.

since op asked, compusa might still have some PNY 512MB PC3500 in stock for $29.98
my area is sold out though 🙂

Buffalo is good stuff. So is Samsung. I'd trust either.

I'm looking for a deal on 1gb SoDimms @ DDR400.

Burst Length 2/4/8
CAS Latency 1.5, 2, 2.5
Write Latency 1T

Its all Greek to me.

Edit: I got the Acer PC deal from CC for my son and am just trying to bump his total RAM up from 512 to 1Gb or more.

Your ram will only work as fast as your slowest model. I would download cpu-z (google that word to get the software) and see what the timings of your current ram module on your son's computer are. The ram moduel you get needs to be at least as fast as that.

Ok thanks, will check that after work today.

I never did "get" what the timings for RAM ment. Some are x/x/x and others are x/x/x/x

oh on that auction it's weird...the / basically is seperating the different timings based on the speed the RAM is run at. You need to look at the right most number as you'll be running at 200mhz (DDR400).

damn the prices aren't cheap on those things...i got my 2GB kit for 150 back in the day...and that was 1.5 months ago!

Here's one from Microcenter and Microcenter.com. It's 512 MB of the Ultra brand for 64.99 with a 40.00 MIR. The rebate is good on purchases until 9-2-06. They had this same memory last month for 5.00 less (59.99 with a 40.00 MIR). I almost bought it because 512 MB for 19.99 to 24.99 after MIR was a good price. The rebate handler is Onrebate so I didn't want to hassle with it. Some people don't mind Onrebate (a TD company or subsidiary) so it might be a good deal for someone else.

512 MB Ultra at Microcenter

Appears to be same online as in store.

edit:
Here the rebate details. Ultra 40.00 MIR
