Best DDR board with 3GB or more memory capacity

My friend at work needs a machine to run heavy simulations on, and the software needs as much memory as possible. What are some really stable mobos that have high memory capacity, possibily 3GB or more? Probably looking at either ASUS, ABIT or EPoX. I built an EPoX system with only 1GB of DDR memory, and it is running great. But with cheaper memory prices, and new boards such as ABIT KG7, I think I can build a better system now. Let me know what your suggestions are. Thanks!
