Best dang digital camera out there????/

<< Kodak DX4900. It's the only 4 mpixel digital camera that retails for under 400. >>

Yeah, but then you'll need to buy their camera dock for $60 so that you can recharge the thing.

Do the megapixel ratings actually matter?? I don't mean if you compare like 0.9 megapixels with 6 megapixels.. but if you compare something along the lines of 2 and 3 or maybe even 4..

My sister has a Canon PowerShot S10 2.1 megapixel camera.. I've tried it out and the pictures look amazing. Then again they were set at something like 1280 resolution..

remember you gotta include the cost for a decent size compactflash memory card! most cameras realistically do not come with a large enough memory card to satisfy the user, so don't forget to add this upgrade into your overall price calculation (if you are on a tight budget)

Yes it does matter for printing. If you enlarge lower res pics up they look bad. If you plan on printing bigger pictures they'll look good.

From the Kodax site

"4.0MP (default setting) - up to 20" x 30" (50 x 75cm)
4.0MP (high compression) - up to 20" x 30" (50 x 75cm)
3.1MP - up to 11" x 14" (28 x 36cm)
2.2MP - up to 8" x 10" (20 x 25cm)
1.0MP - up to 5" x 7" (13 x 18cm)"

2.1MP is 1600x1200.

If you only looked at it on screen then everything looks good. When you print them out then it looks different........
