My dad is looking for an all-in-one, easy to use burning suite. His burner came with roxio and, while he loves the features and easy of use, it devours his old-school P4 based system's resources.

Any suggestions? Nero has been my old choice but I've heard the newer versions are dreadful.

Here's what he uses mostly:
-Simple burning
- .avi to DVD-Video (he downloads indian TV shows and likes to watch them on tv)
- converting videos to play on his iphone

I'm thinking CloneDVD or any number of other apps can fill the need, but he really likes the all in one, wizard driven work flow

Hum the latest version of Nero is rather convoluted, but I still use the Nere Express version that is installed. That works and STILL looks the same. I love it. Works on win7 too!

For an all in one, other than that.. well I am used to a few things which have worked well for me.

To convert ANY format to DVD I still use (and bought and paid for) ConvertXtoDVD. It's just so easy to work with and simply... works.

Then I use Imgburn to simply burn ISO's or to burn data, music whatever files (build feature) like you would in Nero.

Pretty much can't get easier than that.

Ashampoo Burning Studio. Try it out before you buy it.

For converting, just use Handbrake.

I usually use these and would recommend them:

For all the burning needs > Ashampoo Burning Studio

For making DVDs which I can play on my DVD player > ConvertXtoDVD

I love Nero 9 on my notebook but nero 7 is on my desktop anyway I use small low resource program called Alive Video converter to convert to any format except Realplayer format. then I use Nero to make dvd.
