Best Current Video Card Values

What is the best PCI-E video card value right now?

Is it the x800 GTO2? NewEgg is currently listing them for $204 shipped but they are out-of-stock and it's unknown if they will ever receive anymore and if so what the price might be. Other shops that have them in stock seem to want about $240 shipped. Assuming that it mods to an x850xt-pe, should the price of an Arctic Silencer Rev 5 version 2 be included?

Or is it the 7800 GT which is currently available (new) for $300 + shipping after a $30 rebate for the BFG 3dFuzion brand (one year warranty, no bells and whistles)?

I'm partial to the 7800 GT since it also has Shader 3.0 capabilities, which IMHO makes it better than an x800xt-pe.

7800GT, and not because of SM 3.0, just because for the $100 it is definately got to be worth it.

In the Hot Deals forum someone suggested that the BFG might be using the 3dFuzion value line as a means of getting rid of binned GPUs. Is there any evidence to suggest that that might be true? Does BFG even test its GPUs for anything other than it's own OC cards standards?

I heard the same thing someplace-- that 3dFuzion is the 'budget' division of BFG. Dunno if it's true. Just heard it.

7800GT is worth every penny trust me check the 3DMARK05 results for 7800GT. I got 8078 with single 7800GT card overclocked to 530/1200. Which is more then 7800GTX :)

One could also overclock 7800GTX and score well over 8500. :p

Chances are they are going to be ones that don't hit the OC standards then the ones that are labeled BFG. Still I would recommend the GT over the X800GTO^2 because it still alot better then a 850XT and worth the extra money. If it does overclock well it will only make that gap even wider.

The 7800GT rocks, even compared to the 6800U and OC'd x800xl that I have had the pleasure of using, it's definitely worth the dough to step up.

* Plus, with the GT you still have a warranty. You will void your warranty on the x850 as soon as you do that flash. That's something to consider, anyway...
