Hello,

I'm going to be travelling a lot more for personal trips. I'm looking to cancel one of my credit cards and go to a card that accumulates airline miles. What is the best card for this.

Also, considering I'm looking at at least $200/night for hotels on all of these trips, would a Starwood hotel type card be more beneficial?

Thanks

We're SPG gold members, so their AMEX makes sense to us. We accumulate points (that can be converted to miles) rather quickly. Depending on the airline, you can get anywhere from 1:1 to 65:1 (that's 65 points per mile...NOT a good deal) You can also use the starpoints for hotel stays in almost any Starwood property in the world.

i think cash cards are better. the very most basic cash card will give you 1%, so 25,000p = 250$... pretty much good for round trip anywhere in US
25,000 miles will get you a round trip, but its locked to specific airline, and u have black out dates and taxes and redemption fee to deal with.

starwood card was good, because their points transfer to airline miles anywhere (but continental ha sreduced 2:1 ratio) but their benefits have been reduced in general
