Best Credit Card...cash back? incentives...etc?

I currently have a credit card that i started using as a student. It has a high APR, and 1% cash back. Ive notices on this webpage that Credit Cards there are many cards that offer potentially a much better return. Not only in terms of APR, but incentives. Anyone have any recommendations on what type of card to try and get? I am not too concerned about APR as I usually pay off in full or only leave a tiny amount left in order to not feel the pinch. The ultimate card by chase looks appealing as it offers 5% cash back on gas...and up to 2% on everything else.

citi dividencds card
1% casah back on everything
5% on gas, supermarket, drug store

chase universal
$1 a point
with 900 points, you can get a movie ticket that worth up to $12.
I think they send me a ticket once a year too

I don't think there is a "Best Credit Card," get the one that fit you the best.

blue cash is nice. and you don't have to wait for the cash back to pile up to $100 before they cut you a check like the citi dividend does

but get both. i had a blue student (which offers me $500 credit limit... then $1000 after a year), then the blue cash, but since many places do not accept amex, and discover is pretty much useless overseas, i just got the citi master card

citi changed the policy. you can request a check when you have $50, but that's upon request.
it is nice to have an amex card. they rejected by twice last year. I am waiting for the invitations in mail instead now.

I like the Chase Freedom card, now called the perfectcard I think. 3% on gas and 1% on everything else.. but the great thing is that you get the rebate automatically every month as a credit on your next bill.

No screwing around reaching an arbitrary limit or having to ask for your money.

I still like my Discover Platinum card. It's normally 1% cash back, but they occassionally have online specials where you can get back up to 10% on gas and groceries. The last time they had one of those, I made out well and got back $100 in 3 months. You can redeem your bonus in $20 chunks, and can double your cash back award by requesting things like Sharper Image gift certificates instead of cash.

Yeah, I'm still pissed at Amex for rejecting my Blue card application when I was in college. Of course, now that I have great credit and have all the cards that I want, they're sending me offers for pre-approved Gold cards! Bastards. :disgust:

ive yet to find a rewards card that is worth wild - even w/ sky miles, unless you are charging upwards for 40k a year, it will take forever to get one free ticket worth $250 or less

The Citi card is pretty good. I've already accumulated $50 back and I've only had it a few months. Frequent flyer mile cards are overrated.

If you shop at costco a lot, and only a lot. You can get a combination Amax cash rewards card with 2% back and a costco executive membership card with another 2% back, for 4% back on all costco purchases. This combination would have a fee of around 100 dollars a year. This combination is only worth it if you plan to spend at least 231 a month on items at costco or around 55 dollars a week. After 55 dollars a week is when this card offers the most saving out of all of combinations of card from costco.
