Hello,
I'm looking at buying a new computer by the end of 2002 - mostly anticipating some of the killer titles being released for xmas. I've tried to find information on AMDs and Intel's upcoming roadmap and haven't found much. I _really_ haven't been impressed with AMDs XP/MP and Intel's P4.

I bought a TBird 900 when they just came out and I think it was a great purchase, armed with a Geforce3 it's lasted longer than I would have thought. I'd like to repeat that success by buying the right thing at the right time.

So my question, in the next 7 or so months, what and when should I buy :)

Thanks,
Karl

hate to say it but it's probably best to wait until just before you need to buy and then buy one step back from the cuting edge. i've found that this gives the best performance/price ratio. i'd wait 6.9 months and then buy at this point. the roadmaps for processors and boards are nice but they are projections and rarely right. you can wait a long time for something that will be out "next quarter"
good luck
