Best CPU cooling solution for 30$-35$

Any suggestions?

So far I like Scythe's offering, but even then I can't decide between the Katana CU and the Mine Revision B.

How about the cooler master Hyper TX?

I've heard that while Zalman and Thermaltake are good solutions, they are often overpriced when compared to other brands. Is this true?

Bigbruint claims the Hyper TX is even better than Scythe Infinity (which I really REALLY doubt btw).

define over priced???
Nobody is forcing you to purchase what you cannot afforf!
If I was you I would get the Zalman 9700 or the ThermalRight Ultra120 or the XP 120 or even the SI 120....
The thermaltake typhoon is also nice but if youur looking for bang for buck you can hardly go wrong with anything put out by Arctic Cooling.

OVERPRICED: You get less (performance) for more (money) when compared to other similar solutions (same price).
BANG FOR THE BUCK: You get more (performance) for less (money) when compared to other similar solutions (same price).

I'm all about BBB (Best Bang for the Buck), but I also have standards to meet, so it's not about going for the cheapest solutions always.

30$ it's my real target for achiving 3.4 GHz on a Core 2 Duo 4300... but I'm willing to go AS FAR as 35$... period.

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro @ ChiefDeals for $24.99 (Compared to stupid Newegg having it for $59.99. I guess they wanted people to buy their other CPU HSF's over it)

Sunbeam CR-SW-775

I've heard good things about this fella - and it's only $18. However, I can't find any real reviews with comparisons anywhere online. (BTW, I think Sunbeam makes the Tuniq Tower)

For such an expensive processor (considering) and the intent to take it to 3.4, why would you cheap out on the heatsink?

Thats is what I was thinking exactly!!
Only I didn`t want to sound argumentative!!
In actuality cheap and over clocking really don`t mix!

hey yeah, try the stock one first to see how it works out. as for cheaping out on the hsf, as far as that's concerned it's not a matter of cost, it's how well the heatsink performs. he just wants one that will perform adequately for a low price. as long as it performs well, the low price won't be an issue.

I wouldnt reccomend running it 24/7 with a stock HSF. If you are going to OC its better to get a good aftermarket HSF thats designed for OCing in mind. Just my opinion though.

I don't think that a 30$ HSF is a bad target for overclocking... it's no like I'm asking it to cool down a 1.5V 3.6 GHz Core 2 Duo...

Like I said, I'm all about BBB. But I don't want to fry my CPU with the stock HSF... Besides, my room temp is usually around 30ºC (mornings and afternoons).

All I want is less than 55ºC (load) for 3.4 GHz for the less amount of money possible.

That's all. And thanks everybody for helping me out 🙂

"it's no like I'm asking it to cool down a 1.5V 3.6 GHz Core 2 Duo"
You pretty much are. I have my 3.43 E6300 watercooled and I still hit around 60*C on load. Please, please don't skimp out on the heatsink. You'll only regret it later.

EDIT: This is an amazing little thing. This one is a bit better in my opinion. Make sure it's not too big for your case.

I doubt it. But trust me, you'll regret cheaping out on it. I would seriously invest a little more.
