i am a bit concerned abuot tempraturues, i am gettign at idle state about 57 cpu, 42 board, i have a athlon tbird 1.4 gig

Don't be, those temperatures are perfectly fine.

another question i had is actually the power supply for the heat sink, well thing you connect it to , 1 of the 3 pins on the connector is missing, you maybe that is causing fan to get lesss voltage so it doesnt run at the rated speed

Heh, no. The one missing pin transmits information on RPM to the mainboard, it's nice to have it but doesn't make the fan run any more or less effective.

also the core voltage for my cpu is 1.75 but sme how its always at 1.8 and even the agp core is higher than wat it should be, maybe flashing the bios will fix that

That seems to be a pretty typical error, that is, I've got it and I know a lot of people who report similar stuff. Perhabs the display is wrong, or perhabs the motherboard manufacturers decided to go rather higher than lower than required in order to increase stability. A BIOS update might change that, or it might not, but in any event I wouldn't worry about it.

also i am in los angeles, ca, its very hot right now here, that might be a factor?

Yes, it is.

i am using some generic radio shack thermal paste, will as 3 make a difference?

Yep, it will, although it's extremely hard to say how much of a difference. Unless you applied it wrong (used ungodly amounts of it or something), the difference shouldn't be more than a couple of degrees celsius, so, again, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I certainly would remove and reapply unless you're going to remove it anyways (new CPU, HSF).

BTW, it'd be nice if you could pay heed to basic rules of spelling, punctuation and typography. It really would make replying easier.

"Yes, yes it is.. but not out of spec (cause they say that your temps should be under 90C, but I like under 60C max for a range and run at the most under load around 50). Some people can be very stable under 60 and not worry as long as they don't try to start overclocking alot. Some people must have their at idle temp under 40C while others it doesn't matter. "

suggested temps under 90c I believe is on core (actual dye) temperature. The actual core temp is usually 15 to 20 degrees over temp read by socket thermosistors.

I found this out when I changed mother boards -dragon + to a 8k3a+ which was capable of on dye temp readings. my idle temps on the dragon was 45-47 idle and after switching to the epox 65 to 73 degrees idle.

so if you are getting 50 to 55 c temps that may translate to 70 to 75c core or dye temp. I am not sure what the actual dye temp recomendation is I heard not more than 70c (to lazy to look it up.)

peace

or have we all out grown that cheap hsf 😉

😀
Nope still running strong. Got a 92mm blowhole ducting to it with a quiet 50mm fan attatched for extra oomph. No More Delta!
