best Cooling for 2700K?

- Case: COOLER MASTER Storm Sniper http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119194

- Mobo: GA Z77X-UD5H http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...153&CatId=6976

- RAM: SAMSUNG 8GB (2 x 4GB) low voltage http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820147096

- I plan on putting two 670s in there as well.

I am assuming that I will have room to put pretty much anything in the Storm Sniper, but would like some expert opinions. I want to keep my 2700K as cool as possible without being too noisy.

Here are some heatsinks that I have been looking at:

(~ $90) Phanteks PH-TC14PE http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID=

(~ $80) Thermaltake CLP0587 140mm CPU Cooler http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID=

(~ $85) Noctua NH-D14 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID=

(~ $85) Noctua NH-C14 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID=

(~ $100) COOLER MASTER Hybrid TEC RR-B2P-UV10-GP 120mm http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID=

It's my understanding that the Noctua and Phanteks are similar, with the Phanteks being cooler and the Noctua being the quietest. I don't know which Noctua, the C or D, would work best for my setup, but I do know they are both really big. Maybe too big?
The other two also look pretty good.

I might also consider liquid cooling, but I don't really know the advantages/disadvantages. How much cooler will it keep the cpu than, say, the Phanteks would (at full load)? How much louder? Is there a real risk of leaking? Would it be unwise to move the case with a liquid cooler hooked up? etc.

(~ 110) Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007UIX1RE/?tag=pcpapi-20

(~ $90) Antec KUHLER H2O 920 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID=

(~ $95) CORSAIR H100 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID=

Which of these should I choose for my setup? They all cost within $30 of each other, so price isn't much of a factor here for me. But I only want to pay extra for better cooling or noise reduction. I'm not concerned with how it looks in my case.

Thanks

Noctua NH-D14 is the best air cooler out there overall (imo), and it does an awesome job for any processor and task and overclocking. Just make sure to buy low profile memory, or the fancy heat spreaders may get in the way (those samsungs should be fine). The H100 is more compact and will probably give you slightly better temps, but it costs more and it's not quiet, unless you spend extra to change out the stock fans in which case you'll still hear the pump unless you buy a silent, sound dampning case. So it's really up to you, both are a good choices imo; however, since silence is what you want (who doesn't) my vote goes to the NDH14.

edit:
If you decide on closed loop liquid cooling don't buy thermaltake liquid coolers. Unlike Corsair which backs all their closed loop coolers with a 5 year warranty, thermaltake does not.

Thanks for the response. I was already leaning toward the Noctua D14, but I am concerned about the clearance. I ordered a gigantic case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119194 , so that shouldn't be a problem (I don't think).
The RAM I ordered http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147096 seems to be low profile, but I would appreciate someone more knowledgeable than myself to give me the green light.

I also am interested in the likely temp differences between the Noctua and Phantek. Is it not even worth it, considering how much quieter the Noctua is?

-As I said, I am 100% sure that samsung memory will have no problems with clearance because it has no heat spreaders unlike something like this, and thus low profile. (make sure to install the memory before the heatsink)

-Did some homework and the nhd14 will fit your case with no problems! Take a look here

-Lastly, the difference between Noctua and Phanteks is pretty negligible. You can pretty much go with either brand. They are also virtually the same size and same heatsink. The only difference is essentially the fans they come with. So if you put noctua fans on a phanteks or vice versa they would be pretty indistinguishable.

+1 to D14. Phanteks may perform a bit better but may also be a bit noisier, and I'd prefer the warranty and support of Noctua. The case has a 165mm clearance for the CPU cooler, the D14 is 160mm so it should fit

What you guys are crazy. They are both good. but i prefer the Phanteks. More color choice and the warranty is 5 years. i have a Phanteks and customer service is awesome. they told me that the first year is hassle free here in the states so if anything happens i can just return and they will send me a new one. And noise level its not that loud. Noctua is good too but damn the colors are ugly.

While Phanteks warranty and support sounds nice, Noctua's warranty is 6 years and you will get installation brackets delivered for free when moving to a new socket that was not originally supported. Does Phanteks do that?

Have you had both Phanteks and Noctua so you could compare the noise level?

Yes i do have both. i also have the silver arrow. I changed to the phanteks cause the colors are way nicer than the other two. and yes the customer service is pretty good. they sent me a free third fan just for sending a picture and showing them that it fit my case. See always looking out for the customer. pretty damn good to me. Noctua doesn't even comes with two 140mm fans.

Agree about noctua's 'unique' choice of colors, but in practicality only people with a side panel window would really care about that unless you have some ocd about stuff like that; in his case, he doesn't have a window (look at his post) and noctua support quality is second to none, so no reason not to go with it.
