I am going to place my order with NewEgg today for the 3570. I was wondering what the best cooler would be to get a relatively moderate overclock to 4.5 without breaking the bank..50-60 dollars would be the max for a cooler for me. I don't want to go with water or a crazy large/complex cooler. This build is for pleasure..not productivity..Any assistance is appreciated..:)

Not sure if it would be adequate since the IB CPUs seem to be running a little hot, but I've always been a big fan of the Xigmatek products. The Gaia is only ~$30 and it's a pretty effective design.

I love my Nzxt Havik 140. It keeps my Sandy Bridge 2500k at 58C under load at 4.5ghz with 1.35v, and it's pretty much dead silent in doing so. I paid $40 for mine after rebate.

May sound like a stupid question..I just checked the cooler out on Newegg.
There are two fans shown in the product description, but none of them are attached to the cooler in the product photos. Do you attach the fans to the cooler? May seem obvious. I was just confused why they didn't show it in the phtoos.

Yes, they use rubber straps to attach them to the heatsink. If you have a videocard installed and the heatsink installed into the case, it makes it pretty difficult to strap those fans on. The heatsink fins actually cut and snapped one of my rubber straps while I was trying to install. I returned it out of frustration and got a Zalman CNPS10X.

I really like the performance and value that I have gotten from the Cooler Master Hyper 212+/Evo and just add the second 120mm fan to increase the performance.

Yeah the sweet spot for heat towers is around $40-50. You can easily find large, high-end, polished heatsinks that are 10% more efficient and cost double, but is that justifiable for a conservative overclock? no

I think I may go with this one..I didn't know up front you could add a second fan to increase the cooling. Thank you for the information..hopefully I will be able to have it installed by early next week and can run some benchmarks for the forums.

Hyper 212 EVO is working fine with my i5-3570k. Core 1 is like 6-9C hotter than other cores but that's an under-the-heatspreader problem.

You may be able to find a D14 on sale, or used if you can consider that route. Good air cooler.
