Best cooler for EVGA 7800gt

i dont see how that works, besides the copper/aluminum weighing less.

So which is better? copper or alu? And could I have links to both of them? I can't find them on newegg...

The performance between the two is pretty negligible really.

The ALCuVF-700 can be had from Jab-Tech for under $25; that seems like a pretty good price to me.

In my case (6800GT @ ultra+ speeds which should be hotter than a 7800 gt) the zalman actually cools a bit better than the NV silencer 5 rev 1 I had. The idle temps where 3 less with the zalman but my load temps are 10-14 degrees cooler. (62 vs 75-78). I am going to stick with the reference cooler on my new evga 7800GT CO for the time being but will go to a zalman if anything.

Would I be able to fit two of these onto my 7800gts in sli? I've got the DFI-SLI-D board. Is there enough space between the cards for them to fit?

AC Silencers are getting worse and worse these days. Go with the Zalman.

Copper or alu/copper tough? Alu/copper is more expensive, but which is better?

Well copper cools slightly better, but is also slightly heavier. I don't know, it's up to you to decide. Those are just the facts.

Ditto - this cooler vents the heat out of the case...the Zalman doesn't. It will help your case temps! The downside is that some boards (DFI mainly) have the SLI slots too close together to use 2 cards with the NV silencers. FYI.

I dunno, my case and gpu temps decreased when I went from the NV silencer 5 to the Zalman VF700cu. If someone has a case with bad airflow then the silencer might be the way to go but my super lanboy has awesome airflow and almost zero cable clutter.

If someone else who has tried both wants to weigh in then go for it, otherwise it is all speculation.

That's a no go with the NV5
