best cooler for amd xp 2000+?

I'm getting an amd xp 2000+ and i was wondering what is the quietest, best performance fan and heatsink i should put on it?

Any suggestions?

dag man... it's not too hard to find out.... just check most of the threads here in cases and cooling

sorry i'm just kinda tired of seeing this question posted 20+ times a day

if you plan to overclock and if your board supports the Alpha Pal 8045 with any fan you want (quiet or loud)
the SVC GC68 is good
the vantec 6035 is good
the thermalright sk-6 and ax-7 are nice
i don't recomend any volcanos
but if you don't plan on overclocking the retail hsf works just great

does that cpu work on the kt7a board? check amd web site for heatsinks to use with that cpu

Go with the Thermaltake Volcano 7+. I just installed it (replaced my old Volcano 6Cu+ 7000rpm jet engine), and it keeps my Athlon 1700+ at 35C idle on it's lowest fan setting (which is the same temp as my 6Cu+ noise machine). It's silent, and efficient. Only two drawbacks: the first is price ($45), and the second is weight (really heavy).
