Hi All - working on a new PC & just got 2 Asus VG248QEs (for reference they have 1 of each: DP, HDMI & DVI connections) which I would like to connect the following to...

  • New PC (dual screen - only single screen gaming) - DP & HDMI
  • PS4 (single screen gaming) - HDMI
  • Macbook Pro (single screen misc) - DP to Thunderbolt
  • Work Laptop (dual screen productivity) - DVI & DVI

My question is what's the optimal connection configuration for the new PC? Is my proposed DP&HDMI combo (DP for gaming) best or should I get a multi DP graphics card and connect both with DP (switching Mac to HDMI)???

Thank you all

Remember that HDMI doesn't support 144Hz, so you won't see a benefit of fast refresh on your new PC on the non-gaming screen. But I wouldn't buy a new video card just for that purpose, as it only amounts to smoother scrolling and mouse movement. Not worth paying hundreds for.

By the way, very creative use of all the inputs and outputs to have four systems simultaneously connected!

thank you so much for the response...thinking of going with...

EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB SSC Gaming ACX 2.0+ Cooling Graphics Card (04G-P4-3975-KR)

but good to know that I could easily go with a single DP card if I find a good one cheaper.
