Best configuration: DVD-ROM, CDR/RW, 815 chpisets with Intel's ATA100 drivers

What is the best configuration for the 815 chipsets and their ATA100 drivers for a DVD-ROM drive and a CD/R, CD/RW drive? In my case it's an Abit SE6.
I have heard that there are issues, but haven't heard of a definitive solution. I'm specifically talking about primary/secondary IDE, master/slave and driver issues. I have an IBM ATA100 hd.
