Hey guys it seems like the promedias are the best pc speakers out there. But I would rather not shell out the cash for them. So I pose my qusetion what is the best pair of pc speakers for under $100.

EV SonicXS 2.1 for $49.99 at CompUSA <------Absolute best deal if you can find them.

Otherwise look at some Logitech Z-640s.

I have the Logitech Z-640's and like those. They're decently priced and for the money are decent speakers.

From what I have read, they are essentially the same, except the Z-5300s don't have Dolby decoding. I can tell you from experience, though, that the Z-5300s are absolutely incredible. :)

Errr.

In comparison to the Z-560s they have an extra speaker, 5.1 matrix sound, and according to the specs have 3/4 the power. Now the Z-560s used to say they were 400watts RMS(I don't believe this) and the 5300s say they are 280watts RMS. That said I own the 560s and have not yet heard the 5300s so I can't tell you if that would mean anything in the real world. As for comparing these to the Z-680s(which are what zodder thought you meant)...well there really is no comparison, the 680s just blow these away. ;)
