I just came across http://www.magazinepricesearch.com and I wanted to know what computer magazines people recommend. Preferably something more suited towards advanced computer users.

Thanks,
JJ

P.S. Sorry if some feel this is off topic. - It fits in better in General Hardware, than the Off Topic forum

I liked Maximum PC, but then thought the issues were getting too thin. I started to get CPU a.k.a. Computer Power User magazine instead. No regrets as its a much thicker magazine with few ads and more stories than Maximum PC.

Anand is in CPU (I cheat and read off the news stand ;)) but I subscribe to Maximum PC & PC Magazine (You'd be surprised what the rest miss)

LMAO MacAddict just becuz it's free that's classic.

PC World imo is a rather worthless magizine, they had an article about how having the cover off on ur PC while it's running will kill it.

MaxPC and CPU are both very good magizines.

Lol i remember when they used to send those monsters to my house every month for some reason. We had a mac at the time too and we certainly never signed up for it.

Ditto. I was gonna mention how much PC World sucked. Also for the trash: Smart Computing (Formerly PC Novice) and ComputerUser (Formerly Computer User and ComputerCurrents)

CPU and Max PC. Both are very good IMHO.

My MaxPC subscription just ran out and I'm too poor to renew it =/
I like CPU because they have writers who are actually well known and knowledgable (Anand, Kyle, CmdrTaco, the DirectX guy forgot his name)
I occassionally read WIRED because its the only tech mag my school's library subscribes to (I've requested them getting CPU or MaxPC). It's ok, but unless its really cheap, I wouldnt get it.

Stick with MaximumPC and CPU.

Maximum PC, PC Mag, and lastly - PC World. Max PC is getting thinner - it is often written in a very juvenile style and very flip. The new, downsized Shopper is pretty good.

Maximum BS, MinimumPC, Middle finger attitude.

Yet no other print magazine matches it's PC enthusiast appeal. PC Magazine refuses to call a video card anything but a "video subsystem" and CPU magazine has too many "well-known idiots" contributing. Someone actually gave WeatherBug, which is SPYWARE, a good review (Yeah, "Power User" indeed
