Best compatible RAM with Ballistix 2x1GB DDR2-1066?

My Ballistix 2x1GB DDR2-1066 is currently dead so I'm getting it RMAed. In the meantime, I'm planning to buy another 2x1GB preferably from a different brand because it's cheaper and Ballistix suck (from what I hear). When I get the Ballistix replacements back, I want to run 4x1GB for 4GB.

I won't be pushing my RAM. Truthfully, my DDR2-1066 is overkill because I only run them at 800mhz (CPU 400mhz x 8). Timings don't really matter either I guess.

The only thing I fear is compatibility, so with that said, which 2x1GB should I buy?

2 x Crucial (CT12864AA800) PC-6400 1GB DDR2 800Mhz 240-pin $14.49 x 2

1 x Crucial (CT25664AA800) PC-6400 2GB DDR2 800Mhz 240-pin $25.99

2 x Crucial Rendition (RM12864AA80E) 1GB DDR2 800/PC6400 240-pin $13.49 x 2

Mushkin EM2-6400 DDR2-800 2GB (2x1GB) EM Series Cas 5-5-5-12 (1.8V) 240pins (996527) $35

Mushkin HP2-6400 DDR2-800 2GB (2x1GB) High Performance Series CAS 4-5-4-11 (996533) $41

OCZ (OCZ2P800R22GK) DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz Platinum XTC Revision 2 2GB (2x1024MB) Dual Channel Kit $46-$30MIR

Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz 4GB (2x2GB) 240-pin Enhanced Latency DIMM Kit (PDC24G6400ELK) $69-$25 MIR

Sell that craptastix memory when it comes back.

Buy the G.Skill PI Black CAS4 DDR2-800 2x2GB kit for $50 and be happy. Or save $10 and by the standard G.Skill 2x2GB CAS5 kit for $40.

Why not just go with 4Gb kit (2x 2GB)? Should be less stressful on the north bridge sames only 2 slots will be populated.

+1

and a 2x2GB kit will most likely OC better than two seperate 1x1 kits.

I prefer Corsair, G.Skill, and Mushkin. Just seems for the CAS 4 DDR2-800 modules G.skill happens to be one of the cheapest available.

What's wrong with the Patriot Viper Series DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz 4GB (2x2GB) CL 4-4-4-12 Low Latency DIMM Kit (PVS24G6400LLK) ?

Nothing, I just never used them before. Besides most of their prices were after a mail-in rebate and I'm not a fan of MIR's.
My old machine is using OCZ modules right now, but I wouldn't use them just because they require some funky voltages to run at their rated speeds.

Well it's either MIR or customs+taxes+shipping @ Newegg.ca or $15 shipping @ NCIX. Same thing in the end...
