Best comic book --> on screen film?

NFS4

No Lifer
OK, what's your favorite so far?? I'm personally going with the original 1989 version of Batman (Keaton, Nicholson, Palance, Bassinger, Wuhl)...nuff said😀 The second was good, but the last two were shiny pieces of dog sh!t.

Spider-Man is a close second in my book😛

the 1930s or 40s batman movie where they were driving in a jalopy and had horribly cheap looking costumes.

30's or 40's??? If you're talking about the movie with Adam West and Burt Ward, that was 1966. Anyway, my list

1) Batman
2) Spider-Man
3) Blade 2
4) X-Men
5) Blade

My list:
1. Batman (1988 by Tim Burton)
2. Spider-Man
3. X-Men (not counting the costume changes)

Most other comic to movie conversions I wasn't too impressed with or I didn't read the comic.

1.Spiderman (probably because I just saw it and it's fresh in my mind)
2.Batman
3.The Crow

Now which is the absolute worst comic book /movie of all time The Captain America movie or the Punisher

Looks like everyone has Batman at the top of the list😀

Question, is it Nicholson as the Joker that seals its place at #1 for you? 😀

I will be the lone voice of dissent - I thought Batman was lifeless and lacked any real emotion (though it was beautifully shot and had great sets and cinematography), and got even worse with each new sequel. I look forward to seeing Spider-Man, which looks great.

Oh yes, Nicholson was absolutely PERFECT, definitely one of my most favorite villian actors of all time.

1. Batman (with the one and only michael keaton, SNL.. Celebrity Jeopardy... yeah.....)
2. Spiderman
3. The Crow
4. Blade

Lifeless???? No emotion??? First of all, Batman/Bruce Wayne is supposed to be emotionless for the most part. But The Joker MORE than made up for that 😀

Totally agree. I thought ALL of the batman flicks were underachievers. Even Nicholson can't polish a turd.

Wow Spiderman is 2 on almost all the lists! I saw it yesterday and i didnt think it was very good at all, but thats just my opinion.

1. Batman
2. (And a very close second) The Crow
nothing else deserves mention with these two. Though I do give Spiderman credit for being damned cool.

I don't know if any of you have seen it, and it was a long time ago when I saw it, but Darkman was pretty good. I don't know if it was ever a comic book.

1. Batman (1989)
2. Superman: The Movie
3. X-Men
4. The Punisher

j/k about The Punisher 😉

I haven't seen Supergirl mentioned here. It was a so-so movie, but somewhat faithful to the character.

I don't know how faithful Spawn was to the comic. I haven't read the comic, but I thought the movie blew chunks. The effects were good, but I felt cheated out of that $1.00 I spent to see it at the cheap theatre.

I haven't seen Spider-Man yet. I was always more of a Hulk fan. Hopefully that one will be true to the character. We'll see come next summer.

Darkman was also directed by Sam Raimi (director of Spiderman). I love it...cheesy yet entertaining. The way comic books should be...although, I don't think Darkman was a comic before the movie.

Can't wait to see Spiderman. 🙂

1. The Incredible Hulk 😉
2. Blade
3. Men In Black

Everything else is a disappointment (haven't seen Spiderman)

Daredevil? My favorite comic book, so I am looking forward to it.

Yup! And there are plenty other movies, where Nicholson makes the character, if not the movie itself. 🙂
