Remy Martin XO is quite good, only $120 per bottle, IIRC. I don't know much about cognac though... I'm definitely more of a scotch guy, myself.

side by side comparison, I liked Cordon Bleu better than XO, but that is my personal opinion. I thought the cordon bleu was a little smoother.

Try a bottle of the Pierre Ferrand Ancestrale. This cognac is 70 years old, god luck finding it, but it is the best I have ever tried. Even their younger cognacs are very good and I prefer them over remy, courvoisier or hennessey

Not much of a cognac guy, but I found the taste of Remy Martin to be better then Hennessy.. just tastted a bit sweeter, which took a bit of the bite out...
