Those things don't do much. Anyone who wants your car bad enough can hack through your steering wheel and slide the "club" out through the cut faster than than it takes to break into the steering column to start the car.

I'd look into some kind of PAT (passive anti theft) system like new cars have built in. Basically you keep an RFID tag (or something similar) on your key ring that sends the right code when it's like 6" away from the steering column.

Can't intercept due to the short range and the fact that it only sends a signal when you turn the ignition on and it asks for it, and the number of codes is endless. The car is basically worthless without that tag and without spending the time to smash the car to pieces to locate and disable the PAT system or wenching your car onto a flat bed, there's pretty much no way anyone is getting your car.

My aunt had a club years ago (early 90's) and her car was stolen. i would imagine that any thief would know how to steal a car with the club. Do they even make them anymore?

I would get a two way page alarm and some kind of club or autolock. The autolock (brake pedal one) works but its kind of a pain to put on and take off for me at least. I still use it because I work in a semi ghetto area and peoples cars have been stolen while at work.

I thought it was a universal fit but it won't fit on my Tacoma's clutch pedal (its too wide) so I put it on the brake pedal instead. You can still start it up and drive off but you have to pull the E-brake to stop. I almost did that once in the parking lot since I wasn't used to it. I think it works better for automatics since you can't put the car in reverse without stepping on the brake pedal first.
