Hi guys,

I recently posted a thread asking about Dell flat panel monitors. But now I'm not getting a Dell, so really need to get a best possible 17" flat panel monitor (not CRT).

I have a Toshiba P105 laptop with a 17" widescreen and like the picture quality. My eyes suffer badly from poor quality screens, so I need the best.

I was recommended the Samsung 971P by someone here.

Any suggestions guys? Idealy I would like to spend $285, but can stretch if worth it. :)

P.S. I'd also consider a 19" if its not much more expensive.

My recommendation is a Dell 1907FP. They're made by Samsung and they're excellent for older eyes like mine.

Nowadays the price for 19" is almost the same compared with 17". The 19" should help your eyes due to the larger pixels. Samsung and Dell both have a pretty good reputation on making LCD monitors panels. No quite sure which models are good out there, but in my opinion, Dell offers similar quality as Samsung did.
