Okay, looking at a place to move with a better demand for IT positions. Central Oregon is nice and all, but...few opportunities, here.
California is right out, as I only have an AAB, vocational cert, 8+ years high-level support experience...and that's not enough in CA to get a job anywhere that pays better than burger flipping.
Sooo...looking to move somewhere where that level of skill (which isn't static - I'm working on higher degrees and other certifications....I love education - but these things take time) is appropriate for a moderate paying IT job....defined as $45k+.
From what our house would sell for, we are looking at somewhere where you could get a nice flat in the city for around $300k. ("In the city" meaning - walking distance to an organic market, boutique retail shops, etc. Population is not as relevant - something 200k and up, I suppose.)
Sooo....is there ANYWHERE like that in the US?
Or, alternatively, any site I can look around with such criteria in mind and find potential move-to locations?
