Ok so with all of these new threads popping up asking "Your scariests moment", "Your First", and so on, what is the best cinematic you can remember?

The opening scene in Mechwarrior 2 was my favorite. It is still pretty bad-ass.

My favs would be pretty much every movie in Diablo, SC, and Homeworld.

Homeworld, especially the opening movie, is awesome.

For recent games, it's hard to top the Prophecy, and the Betrayal movies in SC2. I think that's the new standard.

I remember really liking the cutscenes in Diablo and Diablo 2, they looked good and they had great atmosphere. Really, just about all of Blizzard's cutscenes are great work.

I thought the opening scene to the Witcher was awesome as well, and I'll always have a soft spot for Final Fantasy X's.

Borderlands intro was pretty awesome too, the mesh of the music with the environment is really really exceptional. I could watch it over and over

alpha: Sit tight bravo 3, I've got visual.

bravo: Hip actuator's out. Targeting system is damaged, I'm in bad shape.

computer: Enemy detected.

bravo: Behind me, two of'em! Beyond the rise.

alpha: Roger, I've got them.

computer: Targeting.

bravo: It's got a lock on me! It's got a-

computer: Targeting.

computer: Warning, ammunition level critical.

computer: Weapon depleted.

Is that right? I've always wondered exactly what they're saying in this video.

But yeah, although there have been intros since MW2 that were prettier/more exciting/whatever, MW2 will always stick out in my mind as "omg fucking AWESOME." Pretty much how I felt when I fired that game up the first time.

The Intro to the original Freespace still gives me goosebumps

I dont think the intro for Homeworld can count, since technically it's the entire beginning of the game which includes the intro + tutorial + cutscene (i think) ... it's fanstastic, there is no doubting that though.

EDIT2: after reading the other thread, it reminded me of the icewind dale intro which i also thought was pretty badass back in the day
